Beth Williams Gieger, Administrator:
Beth has served as the San Juan County Public Hospital District Superintendent and Administrator for Inter Island Medical Center since March 2005. Beth has over 25 years of experience in healthcare administration and management, and very much enjoys the challenges and rewards of managing community-based healthcare services in a rural environment. Beth and her family have been residents of San Juan County for 14 years and enjoy all that island life has to offer.
Becky B, Medical Coder:
Becky has worked at IIMC since May 1984. She is the medical coder. Becky and her husband John have two children and two grandchildren. When she’s not at work, Becky loves reading a good mystery, going to movies, and traveling. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Carrie, Telepsych Project Assistant:
Carrie has been the San Juan County Telepsych Project Assistant since June 2007, and enjoys being able to provide mental health services for residents of our county. Her goal is to provide a voice for all her patients and reduce the stigma against mental health. She’s passionate about health and being healthy, and hopes to help others do the same. When she’s not working, she enjoys the outdoors, being active, and country music.
Cher, Lead Receptionist:
Cher was born and raised in Colorado. She moved to Friday Harbor in 2002 to be near our Orca Whales. She has worked at IIMC for 3 years. Cher is an avid nature lover and enjoys helping people.
Denise, Referral Coordinator:
Denise is originally from Portland, Oregon, and has lived on the island for 6 years. She has recently started working for IIMC as our referral coordinator. Denise has two children and enjoys jewelry making and photography. She also plays on the trivia team at the Ale House.
Evelyn, Medical Records:
Evelyn has worked for IIMC in the capacity of Medical Records Coordinator for 3 years. She values facilitating the timely interaction and confidentiality of patient records. Contributing to the care of patients is something she finds very rewarding. During her time away from the clinic she loves being with family and friends, hiking, traveling, and reading.
Jeri, Clinical Support:
Jeri is a long time resident of San Juan Island. She has been an employee of IIMC for 20 years.
Juan, Receptionist:
Juan graduated from Central Washington University with a degree in Community Health. He is the guy working at the front desk wearing a tie and a smile! Juan started working for IIMC in 2008 and really enjoys his new job.
Julie, Receptionist:
Julie has worked at IIMC for over a year now. She really enjoys being a part of the Medical Center Team.
Marlena, Business Office Manager:
Marlena is the Business Office Manager for IIMC, as well as the Information Systems Manager. She has worked at the clinic for 8 ½ years.
Pam, Financial Coordinator:
Pam moved to the island in May of 2004 from South Texas. She started working at IIMC in April of 2005. In December of 2005 she became our Financial Coordinator. Last year Pam was honored as the Inter Island Medical Center Employee of the Year. She enjoys creative hobbies such as photography, interior design, and artistic cooking. She also spends as much time exploring the outdoors as possible.
Rebekah, Admin Assistant/Quality Assurance Officer:
Rebekah has been on the island for 21 years. She has worked for IIMC for 8 years as our referral coordinator. Rebekah has taken on the role of our Quality Assurance Officer, as well as the Administrative Assistant to Beth Williams-Gieger, Clinic Administrator. Rebekah also works as a Medical Assistant. She is looking forward to moving into a more administrative role and serving the public from a different perspective.
Tina, Insurance Specialist
Tina moved to San Juan Island from Marysville two years ago. She works as our Insurance Specialist and has over 20 years in this field at a variety of mainland facilities. She and her husband have three daughters. Tina enjoys basketball, softball, and track.
